........Species........ [ The Negalegs | The Heydra ]

Though the two dominant species of the Milky Way are the Humans and Negalegs, there are many other sentient space-faring folk who have made their homes there. Most of them are not native. These species live mainly in the Sharedspace Trisect, however there are some colonies within Negaleg and Human territory.

[ Native Species ]

Rock People

Essentially made of rock, these quiet and simple people love rocks. They have rudimentary space flight, but tend to ignore anything that isn’t a rock.

Galactic Relations: Only interested in rocks. Most other species soon become bored with the Rock People and don’t bother them.
Food: Rocks
Technological Level: Primitive space flight. Almost every technological thing is made primarily of rock.

Phatell

A species with a symbiotic relationship with their native plant life – they need to be pollinated to breed.

Galactic Relations: A quiet species, the Phatell only fight to defend themselves, and can prove a strong military force. No real animosity with any other species in particular.
Food: Sunlight, water, soil.
Technological Level: No advanced technology of their own.

Humans

A species with the potential to be both extremely destructive and extremely productive. Resourceful, aggressive and the inventers of the meat pie.

Galactic Relations: One of the two major powers of the Milky Way, Humans harbor animosity towards Negalegs and Mungles.
Food: Meat, selections of vegetable matter.
Technological Level: Medium advancement.

Negalegs (more extensive profile here)

The Negalegs are a proud, warrior like species with a soft spot for blue light. Possessing many of the qualities of Earthborn reptiles, the Neglegs are more closely related to monotremes in biology.

Galactic Relations: Disliked by Humans, Mungles, and Maera. But the Negalegs don’t really care, because they’re a great military power.
Food: Meat, selected grains.
Technological Level: Medium advancement.

Ahannahk

Rather aggressive insects, notoriously devious and usually solitary. A swarm of Ahannahk can reduce a colony to particles, but they rarely congregate in necessary numbers.

Galactic Relations: Regarded as pests by most species except the Rock People, who don’t care about them because they’re not rocks.
Food: Everything except dense metals.
Technological Level: Low, the Ahannahk are galactic hitchhikers.

[ Non- Native Species ]

Heydra (more extensive profile here)

Closely affiliated with the resourceful humans, the Heydra are the foremost authorities on time engineering.

Galactic Relations: Strongly allied with humans.
Food: Elements from the atmosphere.
Technological Level: Unknown.

Graemen

Sentient tufts of hair-like substance grown on a mobile ‘community home’, the Graemen communicate telepathically. A ‘clutch’ of Graemen consists of up to thirty individuals, who act as a whole and single creature.

Galactic Relations: Generally on good terms with all.
Food: Particles in the air (expelled by community home)
Technological Level: High.

Koosie

Relatively rare in the Milky Way, the local Koosie are ambitious individuals on the run from their home world’s oppressive edification system.

Galactic Relations: Heydra “give us the willies”
Food: Assorted vegetable matter.
Technological Level: High.

Mungles

Mungles appear to be made entirely of gelatin. Whilst certainly not the most physically able creatures, Mungle are wily businessmen and are well and truly wound into the Milky Way’s economy.

Galactic Relations: Tolerated by all, loved by none.
Food: Meat.
Technological Level: Medium.

Jeg'haanti

Whilst technically not a sentient species, the Jeg’haanti are very good at hitting things and are used as cheap labour by both Negleg and Human colonies.

Galactic Relations: Viewed as second-class citizens.
Food: Meat.
Technological Level: Low

Desarte

Noble (if irritable) creatures, who place higher value on spirituality than science.

Galactic Relations: Puzzling to most, disliked by the Graemen.
Food: Grains
Technological Level: High

Vex

Sentient robots in search of their creators, Vex only associate with other species in order to be maintained.

Galactic Relations: Jeg’haanti will not be in the vicinity of a Vex for unknown reasons.
Food: Energy
Technological Level: High

Nooplah

Cheerful, large and furry critters with limited intelligence but unlimited goodwill.

Galactic Relations: Liked by all, especially by the Rock People.
Food: Minerals
Technological Level: Medium.
