A very general overview of human technological advances from 2020 to current day (2106)

2020

• Colonization begins, primarily with cryogenically frozen settler ships.

• Cancer is cured.

2030

• Humanity encounters Rock People. Much to the media’s disappointment, all Rock People seem to do is collect rocks, eat rocks and build space ships out of rock so they can find more rock. Humanity decides study their habits intently.

2040

• The bulk of the cryogenically frozen settlers arrive on their planets and awake. Many exhibit signs of grumpiness, but soon settle down quite nicely.

• Housing prices offworld rocket.

• First contact with the Negalegs is established. Humanity forgets about the Rock People.

2050

• The Negalegs and Humans don’t get along. An interstellar war begins, Humanity suddenly realizes just how full of life the Milky Way is.

2060

• The Negaleg war halts colonization for a few years, an army officer gets a terrible case of Chicken Pox.

• The stock market crashes and many poor humans decide to go to a new (cheaper) planet.

2070

• The Chicken Pox wipes out the Negaleg forces, the army officer is branded “The Bespotted Savior” and becomes Humanity’s official diplomat.

• The Heydra are encountered.

• Jump Travel is established.

2080

• Humans cannibalize all the Negaleg culture they can, claiming most of the Negaleg territory as their own.

• The Phatell are encountered.

• Francis N. Noople creates a skin cream that increases the life span by ten years from synthesizing their excrement. No one really wants to use it.

2090

• Having established themselves as a galactic presence, many other species introduce themselves to Humanity.

• What is known as the “Technological Exchange Frenzy” ensues as Humanity enters the galactic community.

• Communication with the Heydra becomes possible.

Current Day

Humanity has settled back into colonization, now with the aid and partnership of the Heydra. A treaty with the Negalegs has been signed and peace reigns (for now). Many species have been contacted, conversed with and prodded.

Territorial Expansion Timeline

As it became clear that Earth simply wasn’t big enough, humanity decided to spread its proverbial wings and explore the universe. The maps below show the basic spread pattern, and overview any key events within specified time zone.

2020: The beginning of space exploration for colonization. Many “Sleeper” ships were sent, with cryogenically frozen settlers.

2030: The first alien species is encountered. Some stable colonies have been established.

2040: The alien species turns out to be a sentient and very dull rock. Another species is encountered and observed. More space is claimed.

2050: The new species proves to be more advanced than humanity and just as hostile as humans. The first space war begins, Humans Vs. Negalegs

2060: It is discovered that the hostile species cannot cope with the Chicken Pox. Humanity releases a plague and soon has wiped out the enemy forces.

2070: Humanity has decimated enemy forces, and proceeds to assimilate Negaleg culture and technology. With the new technology, Human Space is expanded greatly.

2080: Many new cultures are contacted and Humanity is allowed to join the intergalactic community. Borders are now firmly established. Another Negaleg war begins.

2090: The war has been resolved with an uneasy treaty, sections are suggested. Most borders are firmly secure.
