National Day Parade

Parade Format

The parade continues to showcase the precision and discipline of a military-style parade. These elements retain the essence of a parade and provide a nostalgic link to NDPs of the past. Adaptations such as the 16 military fifes and drums escorting the Regimental Sergeant Major and the transformation of the supporting contingents will make the parade more lively and distinctive

Parade Sequence

To mark the start of the parade, 16 military fifes and drum musicians will march up to the stage from the rear centre gate, and form up facing the VIPs. Simultaneously, the Parade RSM will march in from City Hall and meet up with the military musicians on the stage. The combination of precision drills and music will strengthen the ‘curtain raiser’ effect for the forming up of the parade
